Four Steps on the Way to eXile
Unlike conservative initiatives, eXile does not merely oppose the enemy's advancing of his agenda. eXile creates a counterrevolutionary agenda that preserves the good and facilitates the enemy's self-destruction. [See, The Nature of eXile]
eXile is a call to faith and a call to action.
The call to faith is a call to Jesus Christ, first, last and always.
The call to action asks Christians to decide, to commit and to fight. It asks our enemies to repent and convert. We shall no longer debate them.
To fight the evil is not the same as to take up arms against it. We may fight the evil simply by refusing to support it. By withdrawing our support and separating ourselves from the evil, we also preserve the good from corruption.
eXile proposes various nonviolent actions of withdrawing support and separation. These have been distilled into the "Four Steps on the Way to eXile".
Each step consists of several actions that share a common goal. Each step includes actions of similar practicability. [1] Practicability is rated "Most" for easy, "Moderate" for some difficulty and "Challenging" for difficult to accomplish.
At any given time, one's own personal circumstances may limit the degree of participation in the eXile. eXile's call to action respects differences rooted in the conscience and vocation of each individual.
1. The First Step:
Most are called to this vocation, which is part of the natural order. Restoring the Christian institution of family requires love and commitment on the part of husband and father, and submission on the part of wife and mother. Ephesians 5:22-24.
As Christian minds are freed from the relentless propaganda directed against these family virtues, marriage and children will be the natural and prevalent consequence. Some are called to a religious or single vocation; these decisions must be respected.
Those in eXile shall not respect, or even tolerate, the advocates or practitioners of abortion, homosexuality or "feminism". These acts or beliefs are intrinsically evil, and tend to negate the Christian institution of family.
Proselytizing is simply a matter of will. Jesus's last earthly command was "Go forth and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19. Will you take that command lightly?
Removing the television from one's home is simply a matter of will. In the alternative, televisions capable of playing Christian videotapes only may be left in the home.
The extent to which the media control or influence our thinking is underestimated. Even "conservative" internet news sources tend to follow an agenda of coverage dictated by the media. No one exposed to hours of media programming day after day can remain immune to its intended effects.
For the same reason, Christians should boycott non-Christian magazines and newspapers. It should almost go without saying that Christians should have nothing to do with theme parks owned by non-Christians (e.g., "Disneyworld")
"Higher education" is in general a waste of time and especially money. Academia offers more sophisticated propaganda than that offered by the media; at is highest levels it is a proving ground for the next generation of elites. Today, the great works of Classical and European Christian civilization are more accessible outside academia. In general, Christians should have nothing to do with academia. The only exception, and it is an important exception, is for Christians who pursue technical/scientific training likely to be useful to the eXilic communities. Wherever possible, such students should attend Christian institutions of higher learning, e.g. Patrick Henry College http://www.phc.edu
Properly educating one's children is more difficult. Private schooling one's children is expensive; homeschooling is demanding of parental time and effort. Millions of parents manage to do one or another, but it is not easy. Whether you are able to do so with your children depends on your personal resources, circumstances, willingness to sacrifice, etc.
Many parents find that not removing their children from government schools is eventually expensive and time-consuming.
For now, there is no draft, and so avoiding service in the United States/United Nations Armed Forces is as simple as deciding not to. But traditions die hard, and we must consider just what serving in the US/UN Armed Forces means today.
First, if you enlist, but refuse to serve the United Nations on principle, you will be court-martialed just like Michael New. Second, as part of its "Homeland Security" plan, the Bush administration is looking at abolishing the Posse Comitatus statute. That law prohibits the Armed Forces from participating in domestic law enforcement, i.e., US soldiers shooting US citizens. If you enlist, but refuse an order to fire on your fellow American (e.g. after he refused to surrender his firearms), you will be court-martialed. Third, we now have an International Criminal Court that asserts jurisdiction over US Armed Forces located in nations that have ratified the treaty. If you refuse to deploy to such a nation, you will be court-martialed. If you obey such an order, you may have placed yourself under the jurisdiction of New World Order. If you are charged with a "war crime", you won't be getting a jury trial.
The foregoing is what serving in the US/UN Armed Forces means today.
Giving birth at home is a realistic alternative for many mothers. Other alternatives are described in "Practice Frugality and Anonymity". Most private schools and homeschools do not require their students to have an SSN to attend classes.
As children mature and reach an age where drivers' licenses and employment are possible, not having a SSN is more challenging. Still, at least one intrepid soul without an SSN has reported that almost all things are still possible for him. See, "Life without a Social Security Number" at http://www.cjmciver.org
Lower incomes are the key to paying low taxes, and for many, willingly or not, low incomes have become a way of life.
Traditionally, homemakers are not deemed to receive income from their husbands, and technically owe no income tax. Therefore, filing a joint tax return is ill advised. Homemakers can file separately, and if they earn no income outside the home, they may not be legally required to file at all. Homemakers may of course own assets separately from their husbands, and if they do not file jointly with their husband, those assets are not subject to the husband's tax liabilities.
eXile does not advocate illegal activity and takes no position on the Constitutionality or legality of the federal income tax.
Paying low interest entails living within one's means and not borrowing money. The propaganda of materialism encourages us to borrow money and to buy things we do not need. It is easier to refrain from doing this once we understand the real purpose of consumer spending and consumer borrowing (credit cards): enriching financial elites by means of usury.
Many of us cannot buy a home or land without paying mortgage interest. Unlike credit cards, purchase money mortgages are a time-honored tradition and have worked for generations of Christians. It is naturally better not to have to pay interest, but paying interest to acquire land may be worthwhile.
If you register to vote, you will likely be called for jury duty. U.S. citizenship is required for both, and commissioners of jurors like to use voter registration records. It is especially important to report for federal jury duty.
As is related in "Populate Juries", the United States Constitution grants the federal government power to prosecute only four types of crimes. It is practicable, but not easy, to hold federal prosecutors to their burden of proof, which includes jurisdiction. It is practicable, but not easy, to persuade your fellow jurors that the Constitution grants the federal government no power to prosecute other types of crimes. Please try. Jury acquittals are demoralizing to the federal "Department of Justice". Acquittals cause federal prosecutors to think twice before bringing further prosecutions. The prosecution that is thereby averted may very well be your own.
4. The Fourth Step:
In both the Old and New Testaments, God often calls His people to travel or make a pilgrimage as a test of faith. The Bible tells us that such faith is rewarded.
After taking into consideration Biblical prophecy, history and demographics, eXile has proposed certain regions as the location for eXilic communities. To some extent, these areas have already become the gathering places of the European Christian remnant, although perhaps not self-consciously so. As an interactive consensus develops on the location of these communities, eXile will ask its adherents to move there. We may thereby re-create real Christian communities such as those that existed in the earliest days of the United States. It is essential to the success of eXile that these communities are established, as they are the basis for the social and political reforms that will allow Christians not only to survive but thrive. [See, Politics is Local].
The mobility of Americans is almost legendary, and for decades American families would "relocate" at the request of their employers. Such "relocations" came at substantial personal costs to every member of the family. To relocate for religious reasons will incur the same personal costs and will constitute quite literally a "sacrifice" or "that which makes holy".
In the end, families living in these communities may find themselves happier and safer than before.
Depending on our current occupations, the practicability of a land-based economic lifestyle varies from person to person. Many of us are already engaged in such a lifestyle. Many of us would have no clue where to begin. The primacy of farming, fishing, hunting, quarrying, logging etc. is understood by every economic system. Depending on the nature of land or terrain, many American communities are already based on one or more of these economic activities, e.g., farming communities in Iowa, fishing communities in Maine. Each community includes a limited number of residents, e.g., doctors, lawyers and pastors, who provide necessary services to farmers or other primary producers. What is essential is the acceptance that some producers are primary and that the production of value consists in providing necessities to members of the community. This realization and acceptance is the key to the community's economic, political and spiritual independence.
Once the eXilic communities are established, the fruitless political activities many of us have engaged in will begin to bear fruit. The practicability of these activities, e.g., nominating, supporting and voting for candidates remains the same as before. The possibility of success will increase. Instead of being a powerless minority within a national context, Christians will become a powerful majority within a local context. Today, many religious and ethnic minorities exercise political control in their local communities. Tomorrow, European Christians will do the same in the eXilic communities. And armed with a political agenda of nullifying federal policies by local non-enforcement of those policies, Christians, and Christianity, shall be preserved.
The Militia is expressly provided for in the Constitution. See, United States Constitution: Article 1, Section 8; Article 2, Section 2; Amendment 2. By statute, the unorganized Militia consists of every able-bodied male citizen between the ages of 17 and 45. See, 10 United States Code, section 311. Conscientious objectors should be respected.
Militia training, to be effective, should be challenging. National Guard training requires one weekend a month and a two-week deployment per year. Militia training should be at least as demanding. Militia training is practicable, but it is not easy. However, the best way to deter violence is to be prepared to defend against it. This is the purpose of the Militia. [See, Prepare to Fight and Survive]
Men have an innate need to meet and overcome challenge. The dominant culture tries to siphon off the energy nature provides for that purpose into a variety of feckless activities. These would include video games and vicarious activities like spectator sports. Meanwhile, the federal government imbues its myrmidons with a martial culture that demands physical fitness and a warrior mentality.
Christian men in eXile shall pursue a challenging, martial culture. Challenge and fun are not mutually exclusive but in fact related. Gun clubs and conservation clubs are already scattered throughout the hills, highlands and mountains of Appalachia and the Rocky Mountain States. Today, they are for recreation. Tomorrow, they will help us re-create our culture and our nation.
